  • ARCHITECT OF RECORD

    • Lead architect responsible for all phases of the tenant improvement

    • Measured existing conditions and coordinated with building management

    • Developed schematic layouts for treatment rooms, reception, and back-of-house

    • Produced full permit drawings (architectural, accessibility, mechanical/electrical coordination)

    • Managed building permit submission and revisions

    • Coordinated with MEP subcontractors, GC, and brand representatives

    • Provided construction coordination support during build-out

DESIGINING FOR THE SELF CARE EXPERIENCE

McLeod Design Studio completed the tenant improvement for Waxon Salon’s new Seattle Capitol Hill location, transforming an empty retail shell into a fully built contemporary waxing studio. The design introduced a bright, inviting reception area with illuminated branding, dedicated product displays, and warm modern finishes. Three private treatment rooms, an accessible restroom, and a utility/clean-up space were planned to maximize functionality while maintaining a calm, elevated client environment.

The project required detailed coordination with MEP systems, integration of new ERV ventilation and VRF heating/cooling, compliant ADA upgrades, and close alignment with Waxon’s brand standards. The resulting space provides a refined, boutique-style interior that enhances the neighborhood retail experience and supports efficient daily salon operations.
